Cathy teaches both PRIVATE LESSONS (from her home) and GROUP CLASSES (at the Blackstone River Theatre). Her approach to teaching beginners is 'classical' in fundamentals, form and technique. The repertoire, however, is folk/fiddle from a wide variety of cultures, styles and eras.

Cathy has been the fiddle/violin instructor at the Blackstone River Theatre (BRT) since 2006 , teaching beginning levels through advanced, for ages 16 - 80! The spirit of group classes is that of engagement, fun, support and community. FALL 2024 FIDDLE CLASSES (9-week session, September - November)

TUESDAY/ADVANCED fiddlers — 7:00 – 8:15 p.m.

• September: 10th, 17th, 24th
• October: 8th, 15th, 22nd
• November: 5th, 12th, 19th
  *November 26th -- rehearsal for 11/30 Harry Martin Student Showcase

THURSDAY/INTERMEDIATE fiddlers — 7:30 – 8:45 p.m.

• September: 12th, 19th
• October: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st
• December: 12th
  *November 26th -- rehearsal for 11/30 Harry Martin Student Showcase

HOW TO REGISTER FOR GROUP CLASSES

Please email Cathy (cathfiddle@gmail.com) if you are a new student interested in the group class, so you and Cathy can determine which will be the best class for you.  At present, there is a continuing INTERMEDIATE class and a continuing ADVANCED class (no beginner classes at this time).
